More and more jobcentres are not seeing people face-to-face and are instead conducting jobseekers fortnightly reviews over the telephone, as far as I am aware there is no legal obligation to confirm personal data i.e. name, address, date of birth, national insurance number, over the telephone when called by Jobcentre staff? How many people have been sanctioned for refusing to give out personal data when telephoned by Jobcentre staff? And can sanctions be imposed for refusal?
