Refusal statistics for Tier 1 (Entrepreneur) visa applications
Dear Sirs,
The Immigration Quarterly Statistics show that, in the three years to the end of 2016 (Q1 2014 - Q4 2016) 5,419 applications were made for Entry Clearance as a Tier 1 (Entrepreneur). Over this period of time, 2,723 were refused.
The same statistics show that, over the same period, 14,188 applications were made for extensions as a Tier 1 (Entrepreneur). Of these applications, 6,905 were refused.
I am seeking any available information you hold in relation to the reasons for the refusal of
i) the applications for Entry Clearance; and
ii) the extension applications
Obviously I am not expecting the Home Office to provide the reasons for each individual refusal. But I would expect the Home Office to record which Rules were not being met in any given immigration category, for example:
400 Tier 1 (Entrepreneur) applications failed to meet Immigration Rule X
500 Tier 1 (Entrepreneur) applications failed to meet Immigration Rule Y
250 Tier 1 (Entrepreneur) applications failed to meet Immigration Rule Z
etc
I look forward to hearing from you.
Yours faithfully,
Nick
Please see attached in response to your request for information.
Regards,

This request was refused because Nick had not provided his full name. I guess Nick doesn't want to do that, so I did. My updated version of the request is here: https://www.whatdotheyknow.com/request/r...
