Dear Sirs ,

REQUEST FOR ROAD ACCIDENT FIGURES UNDER FREEDOM OF INFORMATION ACT
FOR A NUMBER OF TOWNS WITHIN NORTHUMBERLAND

Through whatdotheyknow.com , I am writing to ask Northumbria Police
under the Freedom of Information Act 2000 if they would kindly
provide the following information regarding road traffic accident
statistics in a number of Towns within Northumberland .

Please would you supply the statistics for the accident figures
both minor and major over the last , say , 5 Financial Years Years
for the Towns as listed as follows , and the Accidents since 5
April 2012 being part of this Financial Year :-

Alnwick ;
Amble ;
Ashington ;
Bamborough ;
Bedlington ;
Berwick upon Tweed ;
Blyth ;
Corbridge ;
Cramlington ;
Craster ;
Hexham ;
Morpeth ;
Seahouses ;
Ponteland .

Whilst , of course , no personal details are being requested ,
perhaps the number and location , together with the severity of the
accident might be possible ?
I am not sure , but it is understood that the Police might
categorise such accidents into grades , so as to reflect the
severity of the accident ?
Perhaps Northumbria Police would advise upon this point , and
clarify the Form in which this data is held by them ?

I would be very grateful if you would send this information as soon
as possible to the E mail address below , if this information is in
a convenient form for this to be done.

Yours Sincerely ,

Jas Richy
On 9 October 2012 , Jas Richy answered as follows to TADU’s Initial Reply :-
Dear Mr Abernethy ,

Thanks for your swift reply .

I would be pleased if you could provide what statistics you have for the Towns in Northumberland , as offered in your E Mail .

Thank you

Jas Richy
Jas,

Regarding your request for accident statistics, although we hold the accident data for the Northumberland County area, the lowest area breakdown we have is for the old local authority areas, those areas are:-

Alnwick
Bewick upon Tweed
Bylth Valley
Castle Morpeth
Tynedale
Wansbeck

I would be able to provide them

Regards

Dear Mr Abernethy ,

I have recently put in a FOI Act 2000 Requests to Northumbia Police .
They have referred me to yourself .

Please would you confirm whether TADU holds this information , and should I put the same request to yourself [ ie presumably Gateshead Council ? ] , and would you prefer that I should I do this via whatdotheyknow.com ?

Perhaps TADU already hold this information ?

If so , might you be prepared to supply it please ?
For your convenience , I attach a Word File with the request made .

Thank you

Jas Richy
