Dear Sirs

Request for Information

I write further to your request FOI ID 17035 under the Freedom of
Information Act 2000 regarding:-

Clients referred to CCG’s

Following an investigation and search of our records I can confirm the
following Kent and Medway NHS and Social Care Partnership Trust (KMPT)
information:-

1. How many K&M NHS Mental Health patients whose needs could not be met by
local mental health services provided by KMPT were referred to CCG's for
placement:

a. in 2016?

b. in 2017?

c. in 2018?

This information would need to be requested from the CCG’s it is not
information that is collected outside normal clinical record systems. The
requested information is not held centrally and is contained within
individual clinical records and archive systems which cannot be extracted
as a stand alone piece of data. . In order to extract the requested
information and collate the results would require a manual exercise to
identify and review clinical records and would exceed the appropriate time
limits, as per the Freedom of Information Act 2000 section 12(1) which
does not oblige a public authority to comply with a request for
information if the authority estimates that the cost of complying with the
request would exceed the appropriate limit.

2. Has Kent and Medway Social care and Partnership Trust referred any
patients to CCG's as a result of lack of general resources to provide care
for the patient eg. insufficient bed spaces in local NHS mental health
facilities etc. If so how many :

a. in 2016?

b. in 2017?

c. in 2018?

In the event that a younger or older adult acute inpatient bed is required
– this would not go to the CCG for funding because KMPT are commissioned
already to provide adult acute inpatient admissions and therefore we would
make the referral direct to the private provider.

I confirm that the information above completes your request under the
Freedom of Information Act 2000. I am also pleased to confirm that no
charge will be made for this request.

If you have any queries about this response please contact me. Please
remember to quote the reference number above in any future communication.

Kind Regards

Toni
