Redundancy Payments Scheme

Pamela Stoneman made this Freedom of Information request to Insolvency Service

This request has been closed to new correspondence from the public body. Contact us if you think it ought be re-opened.

The request was successful.

Dear Insolvency Service,

I am aware you have an agreement with HMRC re the RP scheme. These payments are met by the National Insurance Fund and the vast majority of this payment is forwarded to you by HMRC.

Having looked at a number of IS annual accounts many high profile administrations/liquidations have been mentioned in your reports providing further statistics on how many claims have been made and the total redundancy payments distributed.

Unfortunately I was able to find further statistical information on Farepak/EHR.

Therefore, I'd like to request the following: -

1) What service centre was the Redundancy Payments Team based at that received former employees of Farepak Food and Gifts Limited and European Home Retail Plc redundancy payment claims?

2) How many claims were received from former employees of European Home Retail Plc?

3) How many claims were received from former employees of Farepak Food and Gifts Limited?

4) How many claims were received from former employees of Farepak Mail Order Limited?

5) How much did these claims total for each company listed in questions 2, 3 and 4 above? Individual figures for each company please.

Yours faithfully,

Pamela Stoneman

Dear Insolvency Service,

Apologies the following sentence should have said unable.

Dear CDT.Team,

Ruth,

Thank you for your very helpful response.

Re question 2 and 3 above - is it possible to find out if any of the people who put a claim in for European Home Retail PLC also claimed for Farepak Food Gifts Limited? Since there is only 12 claims for EHR therefore I'm wondering if it's possible to find this info out.

Re question 5 you have stated these figures are inclusive of pension. Therefore, I'd be interested to know what else is included in the figures and is it possible to get a further breakdown of those figures?

Thanks for your help and I'm not sure if you will be able to answer my further questions but thought I'd just ask anyway.

Yours sincerely,

Pamela Stoneman
