Please supply me with information held regarding any discussions, plans or proposals to reduce the speed limits on any significant portion of the roads in Knowsley. By this I mean any shcheme that involves reducing the speed limit of more than 5% of the roads in the area in a single proposed plan, whether they are to be reduced at the same time or over a period of time.

Dear Mr Finnigan

Freedom of Information request F2011- 11 - 695

We have looked into your request for information, and our response is shown below.

I refer to your Freedom of Information request made via email dated 5 November 2011.

I can confirm that the Council is currently reviewing the speed limits on all A and B roads within its responsibility, in accordance with the Department for Transport’s circular 01/06 Setting Local Speed Limits (2006). However the study has yet to be completed in accordance with this guidance and therefore no proposals currently exist.

Upon completion of the study its findings, any emerging plans or proposals will then be publicised via the Councils website.

I trust this information explains the situation and is therefore of assistance.
If you need further information please see contact details below.

Kind regards,

Kayleigh Mason
