Dear Grampian Health Board,

You can treat it as a request for general information or an FOI.

I have read your Trust policy on redeployment and the Redeployment: NHSScotland PIN policy, Published15 December 2014.

I note 2.2.2. 3rd bullet point states,
"No vacancy will be opened to applications externally or from within the wider internal workforce until it is established that it does not present a suitable alternative role for a displaced employee"

My question relates to what if the redeployment manager hasn't screened the proposed vacancy and the vacancy is advertised externally. Would when someone on the redeployment list who shows an interest for the vacancy even though not offered to them be the first choice for redeployment. Would the external vacancy process be halted in favour of allowing staff on redeployment to be matched. Or would the vacancy process continue and the staff member on redeployment have to be subject to a competitive interview withexternal candidates?
