info, University of Buckingham

Thank you very much for getting in touch. Here are some answers to
questions we are commonly asked. If your specific question isn’t covered
here, we will respond to your enquiry personally as soon as possible
(typically, within 2-3 working days).

You may also find it useful to check out our [1]Covid-19 Frequently Asked
Questions page, which is being continually updated with the latest
information on how the virus is impacting areas such as applying, teaching
and learning, visits to campus etc.

Online events

We have lots of subject-specific webinars and tasters available for you to
sign up for on our website. They are great if you want to get a flavour of
your preferred subject area, and we run them all year-round.

Our webinars are designed to give you an in-depth look at your preferred
study area, and offer plenty of opportunities for you to ask questions to
both our academic staff and students.

In-person events

We have lots of events for you to sign up to on our website. We run Open
Days throughout the year, and they’re a great opportunity to explore our
riverside campus and meet students and staff, giving you a detail insight
to life at Buckingham.

If you can’t make an Open Day you could book a campus tour to get a guided
walk around our campus with one of our Student Ambassadors. We do our best
to match you with an Ambassador studying your chosen subject and they can
take you to the most relevant spaces on campus.

If you want to get a flavour of your preferred subject area, we run online
and on-campus Tasters all year-round. These are a great way for you to
better understand a particular course area and find out how our small
group tutorials work.

FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

ADMISSION

How do I apply for a place at Buckingham?

You can apply to study with us directly, using the online application form
on our website. First choose the subject you are interested in by clicking
one of the icons on [4]University of Buckingham - Home of the Two-Year
Degree home page. Then, select your level (Undergraduate or Postgraduate)
and click on your course. Once on the course page, click on the APPLY
button and choose APPLY DIRECT. You can find out more about what’s
involved in applying directly [5]here.

If you are an International Student, you may also apply to us via an
agent: a full list of our international agents can be found [6]here.

Alternatively, you can apply to study with us as one of your five choices
on UCAS (our UCAS code is B90).

What is the application deadline?

We can normally accept direct applications up until five weeks before a
course starts. However, the earlier you apply the better, particularly if
you are an international student and need a Student visa and/or want to
secure a room in University accommodation. To understand the requirements
for a Student visa, please see below (Student visa section).

How long will it take for me to hear once I have applied?

It can take up to 3 weeks to hear back from us, but often much sooner.

Useful contacts

If you have any questions about the Admissions process, get in touch with
our Admission team on [7]Admissions | University of Buckingham.

For those with questions relating to our Medicine or Allied Health
programmes, please contact: [8][email address]

ENTRY REQUIREMENTS

How can I find out whether I meet the entry requirements for a course?

The entry requirements listed on our course pages indicate the typical
requirements for each course. If you have additional queries regarding our
entry requirements, please contact [9][email address].

How can I find out whether my international qualifications meet the entry
requirements for a course?

The entry requirements listed on our course pages indicate the typical
requirements for each course. If you have studied a different school
qualification to those listed, you can find information on their
equivalents on the country pages listed [10]here. Not all countries are
listed on the website. However, we welcome applications from all
international countries. If your country is not listed please apply and
submit any transcripts and grades from High School or higher
qualifications with your application.

All applications are assessed individually and all qualifications are
considered, though we may ask you to provide translated certified copies
or NARIC equivalency certificates for international qualifications.

I am an international student - what are your English language
requirements?

It’s very important that your level of English is of a good standard so
that you can be successful in your studies. We therefore have higher
requirements than the minimum specified for a UK Student study visa, and
you must achieve them in all 4 components – listening, reading, speaking
and writing.

You can find out about our English language requirements [11]here,
including how to find approved language tests and providers in your
country. We will need to see evidence of your English language
capabilities before we can issue you with the Confirmation of Acceptance
for Studies (“CAS”) documentation you need to apply for a visa, so please
make sure you book your test in plenty of time.

Note that if you don’t quite meet our English Language requirements, we
offer a Pre-Sessional English Language Foundation programme which can
bring you up to the level required for your course. For more information
on our Foundation courses, please visit our website: [12]Foundation course
| Integrated Foundation Year | University of Buckingham.

BURSARIES AND SCHOLARSHIPS

What bursaries and scholarships do you offer?

Our [13]bursaries and scholarships page contains links to information
about the bursaries and scholarships we offer, including the criteria for
being considered and how to apply. There are also external scholarships
for which you might be eligible: you can find information [14]here.

You will see that most scholarships are for high achieving students with
very strong grades and excellent English language skills.

Do you offer full scholarship?

Please note - WE DO NOT OFFER ANY FULL SCHOLARSHIPS. If your financial
circumstances mean that you will only be able to study at Buckingham if
you receive a full scholarship, we encourage you to carefully consider
whether you are likely to be eligible for any of the scholarships listed
in the links above and consider other financial support such as a student
loan before you apply.

STUDENT VISA

If you are an international student, please visit our [15]student visas
page to find out what you need to get ready beforehand (including
compliant bank statements showing you have enough money to fund your
studies, and evidence of your English language capabilities).

Once again, thank you for your interest in our University!

Best wishes,

The team at the University of Buckingham
