Dear [Name Removed]

Freedom of Information: Right to know request

Thank you for your email of 18 February in which you asked

1. How many British Muslim employees have you recruited? Please provide
figures for every year since 2010.

2. What is the average length of service?

3.How many British Muslims have you employed in communications/media roles
since 2010?

We have processed your email in line with the provisions of the Freedom of
Information Act 2000 (FOIA) and our response is below.

We can confirm that we do not hold the information for questions 1 and 2.
This is because not all colleagues report their nationality and religion
to the FCA and so we do not have the information available on the number
of British Muslims recruited to the FCA since 2010.

Furthermore, we do not hold the information for question 3. This is
because we do not record job roles according to the categories of
‘communications/media roles’. Different colleagues, across various FCA
departments may, in fact, undertake communications/media work, but this
would not necessarily be reflected within their job titles, as it may not
constitute their only area of work. For this reason, it would not be
possible to obtain a reliable figure on the number of colleagues
performing such roles.

Your right to complain under FOIA

If you are unhappy with this response, you have the right to request an
internal review.  To do so, please contact us within 40 working days of
the date of this response at [1][email address].

If you are not content with the outcome of the internal review, you also
have a right of appeal to the Information Commissioner by phone or on
their website at:
