Recruitment and Equality within the Public Sector
Dear Equality and Human Rights Commission,
Please can you provide a copy of the Equality & Human Rights Commission employee recruitment Policy.
In addition, please answer the following questions:
How many job vacancies have arisen in the Equality & Human Rights Commission within the past 2 yrs?
Please provide a list of job titles of all the jobs that have arisen along with the job grade for each post and stating if the successful applicant was an internal staff member or if they were recruited from outside the Commission.
Are vacancies arising in the Equality & Human Rights Commission advertised to staff members only in the first instance? Assuming so, please indicate on the list of information provided about job vacancies arising in the past 2 years which posts were advertised only to internal staff members to apply and which were advertised to both internal staff members and members of the public to apply.
Also, please can you advise if the Commission have ever undertaken any work to assess the equality and fairness of recruitment practices of any public sector organisation (organisations funded by the public purse such as the local councils, NHS etc) to ensure all individuals are recruited solely on the basis of competence and merit. Assuming so please provide full details of the work undertaken and the name of the organisation concerned.
Thank you
Sophia Ackworth
