Dear Julia Owen

Thank you for your request for information dated 16 September 2017 and
received that day concerning Abingdon and Witney College.  This request is
being handled under the Freedom of Information Act 2000.

We are withholding some of the information you requested as we consider
that the exemptions in the following section(s) apply:

Section 41 exempts information (price / identity) as it was agreed in
confidence and that duty of confidentiality is owed to the other party.
Disclosure would be a breach of that confidence.

Section 43 exempts information which, if disclosed would be likely to
prejudice the commercial interests of any person. It protects not only the
commercial interests of third parties but also the commercial interests of
the College. It is intended to protect the ability of a public body to
obtain goods or services on the best possible commercial terms and to
protect the legitimate commercial interests of its supplier. This is
especially pertinent during a tendering process as any response can be
seen as providing a commercial advantage to one potential supplier. The
information you seek falls into this category.

I am able to provide information as follows:

Permanent recruitment expenditure in the past 12 months:

Advertising         £5,654.08

Agency fees       £14963.71

Transfer fees     £0.00

Training                £0.00

If this information does not address your requirements under the Freedom
of Information Act or you wish to complain about any aspect of the
handling of this request, then you should contact the undersigned in the
first instance. Should you remain dissatisfied, then you may apply for an
internal review by contacting The Principal,  Abingdon and Witney College,
Abingdon Campus, Wootton Road, Abingdon Oxon OX14 1GG (email
[2][email address]).  Your request for internal review
should be submitted to us within 40 working days of receipt by you of this
response.

During the independent review the handling of your information request
will be reassessed by staff who were not involved in providing you with
this response. If you remain dissatisfied with the handling of your
request or complaint, you have a right to appeal to the Information
Commissioner at The Information Commissioner's Office, Wycliffe House,
Water Lane, Wilmslow, Cheshire SK9 5AF. Further contact information and
details of the role and powers of the Information Commissioner can be
found on the Commissioner's website: [3]http://www.ico.org.uk/
