Dear Abigail, 

On 20 July 2023 you submitted the following request for information to the
Royal College of Art, please find our response below. 

1. How you currently recruit for your academic temporary and permanent
members of staff and do you use recruitment agencies.
2. Do you use one agency or several
3.  Is there an official contract/agreement in place to use agency

Our response:

1. We don’t use agencies for Academic posts- there is no need for agency
use, we recruit staff via our internal platform - by advertising posts on
RCA website, LinkedIN, Indeed, [1]Jobs.ac.uk, Guardian.

2. We use several agencies for non-academic posts, if we were unsuccessful
in the internal recruitment process (after advertising a job twice or
three times)

3. We do not have an overarching contract used for all agencies we engage,
however, we sign up to each individual's agencies Terms & Conditions, once
negotiated, to ensure all parties are aware of the terms of engagement and
the responsibilities/liabilities on both sides of the contract.

If you are unhappy with the way your request has been handled, you may
make a complaint by writing to [2][Royal College of Art request email]. Your complaint will be
considered by an adjudicator who was not involved in the original
consideration of your request.

If you are not content with the outcome of your complaint, you may then
