Records of maintenance of a footpath

Dear Kent County Council,

This request for information is made under the Freedom of Information Act (FOIA) 2000.

I would be most grateful if you would be kind enough to answer the following questions in relation to a footpath known by various names but which is situated between the High Street, Margate, Kent, at post code CT9 1DL, and more specifically identified at map Coords: (635282,170968) Grid Ref: TR352709 and which runs between the buildings numbered 17 and 19, Margate High Street, and which provided access and egress between the High Street and Thanet District Councils "Market Street Car Park".

I have three questions;

1) Please provide the dates of any survey inspections relating to the condition of the footpath and its effects on adjoining buildings and its general maintenance needs (both prior to and post work being done) which has been undertaken within the last 12 years, together copies of those resultant survey reports. If these events are more than 12 years old, please only identify by listing those that there may be older than this.

2) Please disclose the names, address and/or departmental offices of those oranisations or building owners whom you have consulted in the past in relation to undertaking the work referred to in "1)" above; such as Gas, Electric, Water, Telecom providers and any other interested parties arising as a result of the survey reports undertaken and/or work being necessary, as referred to above.

3) Please provide all copy documents that you hold or are within your control, which record your communications with Thanet District Council or any of its officers, relating to the footpath over the last 6 year period to date;
specifically, but not limited to;
a) its maintenance,
b) the maintenance costs,
c) the footpaths ownership and any proposed adoption of the aforementioned footpath by Thanet District Council.

Thank you for your request for information made under the Freedom of
Information Act (FOIA) 2000, relating to a footpath.


I am writing to advise you that after consulting with the appropriate
departments, I have established that the information you require is not
held by KCC. This is because the land the footpath is located on is
Private and therefore no information is held.


If you are unhappy with this response, and believe KCC has not complied
with legislation, please ask for a review by following our complaints
