Dear Ammanford Town Council, Carmarthenshire,

Since the big pre-arranged nosh-up at the Cricket Club on AGM night, Councillor attendance has dwindled and it seems the Council has ground to another halt.

Please can you provide details of each meeting called including the date and purpose (full Council, sub-committee etc), the number and names of each Councillor in attendance. Please make sure that you include these records for each meeting that has h ad to be abandoned due to being inquorate.

Obviously I can't check these details on your website(s), as even the holding site is directing to the malware and bad advertising. And as the Council has not empowered the Clerk to resolve the website until it is quorate....

Yours faithfully,

D Morris

Dear Ammanford Town Council, Carmarthenshire,

I really appreciated the prompt call from the interim Clerk on Thursday. I can see how hard Ms Hope has worked to try and turn the Council around. In light of the call I'd like to clarify/narrow the request.

Ms Hope was not aware that the "Cookie banner" on the front page of ammanfordtc.co.uk was passing all traffic out to the old amm...towncouncil.com domain, where someone was earning money from malware and inappropriate ads, dodgy crypto-currency promotions, iffy child & pet minding services(!) etc. This was almost certainly as her devices had already accepted the cookie policy. I only access the Council website(s) from secure and isolated sandboxes and hence see that banner, as would new visitors.

A quick probe of the site on Thursday showed 224 such redirects, down from the 517 in June. I guess these references were auto-generated by WordPress, and I'm delighted that Ms Hope has now been able to fix them all. As such, I've been pleasantly surprised to see how much has been going on - I had begun to despair with a stream of angrily "CANCELLED !!" marker pen scrawled through items in the noticeboard in July. It's almost like the Council has had a clean reboot whilst I've been away to North Wales. I am somewhat taken aback to see the Council sit in August.

As such, the scope of my request is very much smaller, and I hope easier to resolve. I understand that records of attendance would have had to be made for fire safety, as part of the sign-in procedure - even where the Council hasn't reached a quorum and so recorded a full meeting. If another Data Controller manages those records then please do let me know. their details.

Yours faithfully,

D Morris

Dear Town Clerk,

Thanks for the record of the meeting on 4th July. It must be very frustrating for you to put so much preparation into a meeting for Members summonsed not to attend, and disappointing for the public attendees too.

According to the Agenda, this appeared to be substantively the same as the Special meeting which was called for 27th June, but then Cancelled.

Was that Cancellation of the 27th June Special Meeting on account of knowing in advance that Members would not attend? Or another reason? If the former, then please list the apologies received, or clarify the latter.

Yours sincerely,

D Morris

Clare Hope, Ammanford Town Council, Carmarthenshire

Good Evening Mr Morris,

I had to cancel the meeting which was due to be held on 27th June as I was unable to obtain some information that needed the Councillor’s attention in time.

It was nothing to do with apologies received in advance.

Kind regards
Clare Hope
Interim Clerk
