Dear Mr Mantle,

Thank you for your e-mail enquiring about the number of cars in each Local Authority. The Department for Transport publishes the attached table annually. It gives the number of licensed vehicles by body type from 2004 to 2014, and can be found at the following link:

The table for 2015 will be published in mid-April.
