Dear Mr Botham
I write in connection with your request for information dated 16^th
October 2019 under the Freedom of Information Act.
Specifically you asked:
Could you please provide copies of your policy and procedure for recording
psychological injuries on duty for (i) police officers (ii) police staff
for the years 2012, 2013, 2014, 2015, 2016, 2017 and 2018?
Our response:
Injury on duty is defined as “any unplanned, unforeseen event that results
in (amongst other things) physical or psychological injury arising out of
or in connection with police work activities and/or in the execution of
the employees duties…”.
There is no specific policy relating to the recording of psychological
injuries. The process for recording injury on duty as defined above is
contained within the Health and Safety procedure for Incident reporting
and Investigation.
Yours sincerely
Becky Berridge
