Recorded crime and disorder at Maes Y Dre Welshpool

The request was successful.

Dear Dyfed Powys Police,

I am concerned about recreational facilities for young people in Welshpool, and the removal and inferior relocation of those facilities under the guise of "police advice" (3rd party anecdotal claim).

Can you please advise of crimes recorded and separately, any anti social behaviour not already recorded as a crime.
Please break the data down into recording years;
2018 to 2019
2019 to 2020
2020 to 2021

Please provide data for the following locations:
1. The Skate Park Howell Drive Welshpool, and
2. The Maes Y Dre Playing fields incorporating:
Children's play park Canalside,
The Rugby Club
The Football Club
The Cricket Club

3. Specifically in relation to the Skate Park and going back no further than January 2020. Please provide a copy of any minutes or record (redacted as necessary) of any information sharing (as may be appropriate under the Crime and Disorder Act) between the police and any public body and specifically Welshpool Town Council, where police or police staff have advised that the Skate Park location was badly located and should be moved. Any crime prevention advice such as CCTV installation to mitigate and manage any risk would also be helpful.

Yours faithfully,

Dlane Barnett

Dear FOI,

Thank you for your response.

I refer to my original request for information. You will see that I have requested details of crime and anti social behaviour recorded in respect of the skate park and separately the data in respect of the other areas of Maes Y Dre. The response lumps all data together which does not help me to understand whether there may be a specific issue with the skate park that may justify the nuclear response by the Town Council ie shut and relocate.

Can you please provide clarity on the number of incidents that relate specifically to the skate park.

Thank you

Diane Barnett

Diane Barnett
