RESPONSE - FOIA/18/76

Further to your recent request for information on the recent strike action, please be advised that Ulster University has responded per question as follows -

(1) Were staff deducted pay during this period? - Yes. Staff participating in recent strike action had their pay deducted.

(2) If so, how much was deducted in total? (If a final figure is not available, please give an estimate, but make it clear if this is an estimate) - Estimate of total gross pay deduction for 13 day strike is £379,932.

(3) How will these funds be distributed within the university? - The University will donate this sum to the Student Hardship Fund.

If you are unhappy with how the University has dealt with your request you may raise the matter under the University’s internal review process for FOI requests. Please submit written details of your appeal to Mr Eamon Mullan, University Secretary, Room J312, Ulster University, Coleraine, BT52 1SA, or email [email address] The University will normally undertake to issue a decision on appeal within 20 working days of receipt.
