Dear Merseyside Police,

Your recent ad campaign ‘being offensive is an offence’ which was used to misrepresent the law, close down free speech, and Intimidate shoppers was clearly a disgrace and I want to know the following:

Who, by name, rank, role was responsible for creating and signing off on the campaign as a whole and the particular advan and ad.

The cost of the advan

Where else the message ‘being offensive is an offence’ appeared

The cost of the whole campaign

The cost of dealing with the various retractions required

The remedies pursued to correct the unlawful guidance given by MSP

What disciplinary measures have been taken as a result of this gross misrepresentation of the law

The cost off the annual hate crime budget

The cost of the annual budget devoted to burglaries

The annual for the last year hate crime statistics including number of hate crimes reported vs hate crimes successfully prosecuted

An explanation of how Merseyside Police is committee to upholding human rights particularly the right to free speech - how many arrests and or investigations do you carry out into crimes (including social media hate crimes) where this right is being suppressed?

Thanks

Yours faithfully,

Phil Kurthausen
