Dear [Name Removed]
I am writing to confirm that the council has completed the processing of
your request for information.
Please find below a copy of your request, followed by the Council’s
response.
REQUEST
How many reasonable adjustments have you made to bus stops?
RESPONSE
We have made the following type and number of adjustments:
• The Council has introduced raised kerbs at bus stops to make step free
access to buses easier. The last audit of bus stops took place in 2014
and at that time 182 bus stops out of 384 audited had these raised
kerbs. Bus technology has improved the ability of buses to be lowered
towards normal kerb height creating easier access for bus users.
• The Council’s portfolio of real time bus information displays include
REACT technology developed by RNIB to broadcast the content of screens
when activated by a key fob held by the bus user. All of the Council’s
17 at-stop displays have this technology.
