Dear Hammersmith and Fulham Borough Council,

Please confirm how many requests the Council received from its workers (broken down by permanent, contract, or temporary) for reasonable adjustments to be made either in the workplace or to working practices during 2018.

Please clarify how many of these requests were formally considered in line with Council policy and giving due consideration to the Equality Act 2010 for each type of worker. Also please detail how many of these requests actually resulted in adjustments being made for each type of worker.

Where requests were not considered in line with Policy or in accordance with the Act or a decision was taken to decline an adjustment, can we please have an overview of the reasons why for each worker type (without providing case specific information)

Please provide this information on a department basis for the Council as a whole, but if such a request is considered prohibitively time consuming or costly please provide this information specifically for your Growth and Place department.

Yours faithfully,

Martin Dense

Dear Hammersmith and Fulham Borough Council,

Please pass this on to the person who conducts Freedom of Information reviews.

I am writing to request an internal review of Hammersmith and Fulham Borough Council's handling of my FOI request 'Reasonable Adjustments'.

My request (below) of 23 January 2019 remains unanswered and by law I should have received a response some weeks ago. A copy of my request follows.

Dear H and F In Touch,

My FOI request entitled 'Reasonable Adjustments' remains unanswered after 110 days, and my request for an internal review of the handling of the request has gone unanswered for 46 days.

If the Council doesn't want to take its responsibilities under the Act seriously I will seek intervention of the Information Commissioner's Office. Please provide your response without further delay to avoid an escalation.

Yours sincerely,

Martin Dense

Dear H and F In Touch,

My FOI request entitled 'Reasonable Adjustments' remains unanswered after 179 days, and my request for an internal review made 115 days ago has also been ignored.

I will now be contacting Stephen Cowan asking him to explain the Council's failing, and also asking the Information Commissioner's Office to open an investigation.

Yours sincerely,

Martin Dense

Dear Hammersmith and Fulham Borough Council,

Please pass this to the person who conducts Freedom of Information reviews.

I have today received the Council's response to my FOI request entitled 'Reasonable Adjustments'. The response apologises for the delay and says the requested information is not held on file.

The response concludes inviting me to request an Internal Review if unhappy with the handling of my request.

I am unhappy with the handling of my request and I wish to request an Internal Review because:

1. The response has only been issued as a direct result of me contacting the Leader of the Council on 26 July 2019. I waited 184 days for this response when it should have taken 20 working days.

2. The response is incorrectly dated to suggest my request was answered on 17 May 2019 and not 31 July 2019. Why is this?

3. The response fails to take into account the fact that I asked for an Internal Review on 2 April 2019. I have been waiting 120 days already for this and it should have been completed within 20 working days.

4. The response says no information is held on file. Does this means the Council is unable to determine if any requests were receIved or that none were actually received over the period. Please clarify?

Please conduct an Internal Review promptly giving due consideration to these points.

Martin Dense
