Reach for the skies, but not your wallets ...

Matt O'Donoghue made this Freedom of Information request to Liverpool City Council

Automatic anti-spam measures are in place for this older request. Please let us know if a further response is expected or if you are having trouble responding.

The request was partially successful.

Dear Liverpool City Council,

I am a journalist who asked the Press Office if they could kindly clear up some confusion over air travel, flight details and charge codes. They’ve kicked it your way, so here goes ...

Answer the questions as numbered, please, that helps us having to go through the ridiculous dance that does nothing but waste everyone’s time, going backwards and forwards because some of the information has not been “missed” and not provided.

To help make a response more efficient, for reference; all the data that makes up this request was drawn from Angela Lewis’ reply to FOI 642797. The information required has already been collated, needs no searching, and merely requires clarification and a check against your unredacted response.

I’m checking on what the following cost centre codes mean in relation to flights paid for by Liverpool City Ratepayers and the details of the recipients of LCC’s aid on the following payments:

(1) On 10/03/15 John Marsden’s tickets to Liverpool to Madrid and back were paid for on the cost code: PHADM what does this code mean?
(2) On 14/12/15 Return flights for an unknown person, from Madrid to Liverpool and back to Madrid were paid for using the charge code: SCRSV. Who travelled at Ratepayers expense and what does this code mean?
(3) On 12/04/16 travel from Madrid to Liverpool was paid for using the charge code: SCRDT. What does the code mean and who are these tickets for?
(4) On 21/10/16 Travel from Manchester to Madrid was paid for under the cost code: SCRXT. What does this code mean and who travelled at ratepayers expense, please?
(5) On 25/10/16 Return flights from Spain to Manchester appear to have been booked on the cost code: SCRXV what does this code mean?
(6) On 05/06/17 Christine Derbyshire’s tickets to Madrid from Liverpool were paid for under the cost code: JHMMG what does this code mean?
(7) On 06/07/17 James Noakes’s tickets to Madrid from Liverpool were paid for under the cost code: NFAAL what does this code mean?
(8) 0n 08/06/16 Dr Juliet Staples’s tickets to Madrid from Liverpool were paid for under the cost code: NPTHL what does this code mean?
(9) On 15/03/17 Four people had their travel paid at the ratepayers’ expense, to Bermuda. Who did Liverpool City Council sent to Bermuda and what does the cost code: SPECJ mean?
(10)On 09/06/17 Dr Juliet Staples’ tickets from Madrid to Liverpool were paid for under the cost code: JHMMG what does this code mean?
(11)On 21/06/17 Sean Philip Durney record two sets of tickets from Liverpool to Madrid and back again, under the cost code: LRART what does this code mean?
(12)On 18/03/18 Wendy Simon travelled to Johannesburg using cost code: WCXEM what does this code mean?

Thank you for your assistance,

Matt O'Donoghue

Liverpool City Council

Matt O'Donoghue

Dear Liverpool City Council,

Please pass this on to the person who conducts Freedom of Information reviews.

I am writing to request an internal review of Liverpool City Council's handling of my FOI request 'Reach for the skies, but not your wallets ...'.

Please review the data provided.

There are flights missing from this list that have been included in an earlier FOI, for instance the 4 flights to Bermuda in March 2017.

Who went on the flights to Bermuda?
What was the purpose for their travel?
Did they return on a Cruise Liner?
Why are they missing from this list?

A full history of my FOI request and all correspondence is available on the Internet at this address: https://www.whatdotheyknow.com/request/r...

Yours faithfully,

Matt O'Donoghue

Liverpool City Council
