Re: Environmental Information Regulations 2004 (“the Regulations”)

Thank you for your request for information about streetworks which we received on 21st April 2017. We are dealing with this as a request for information under the Regulations.

As a reminder, you requested the start and end dates of the roadwork's carried out on Wraik Hill, Whitstable from December 2016.

To cover the work involved in supplying the information which you have requested, a fee will be payable before we can provide you with the information.

We estimate that it will take us 0.25 hours to collate the information requested. This includes locating the relevant information in our records and writing a report to extract this information. Under the Regulations we can charge a reasonable fee for provision of information; you may find out more about this in our charging schedule, available on our website at:

Therefore, to enable us to proceed with your request, please return a copy of this email with a cheque for £6.25 (0.25 hours work at £25 per hour) by 24th July 2017, which is three months from the date of this letter.

Please send your response to myself to the Snodland address on this letter. If we do not receive payment by this date, we will consider your request closed.

The 20 day response time set by the Regulations will be suspended from the date of this letter until we receive your payment. As soon as we receive payment, we will process your request.

If the actual cost turns out to be less than the estimate, the balance will be returned to you. If the actual cost is higher than what you have paid, we will absorb this extra cost ourselves.

If you are unhappy with the handling of your request, you have the right to ask for an internal review. Internal review requests should be submitted within 40 working days of the date of this response, so by 13th June 2017, and should be addressed to the Head of Legal, Nicolas Truillet at [email address], or at the below address.

If you are dissatisfied with the outcome of the internal review you can apply without charge, to the Information Commissioner, who will consider whether we have complied with our obligations under the Regulations and can require us to remedy any problems.
