RE: Public Health Advice Received by Cambridge Assessment in Relation to June 2020 A Level Examinations

Dear University of Cambridge,

1. On March 11 the World Health Organisation declared COVID-19 as a pandemic

2. On March 12 The Government of Sri Lanka took steps to close down all school nationwide, cancel examinations and declared public holidays in an attempt to slow the spread of the outbreak

3. On March 16 The Prime Minister of the United Kingdom requested members of the British public to avoid all travel, mass gatherings and group meetings.

4. On March 17 Cambridge Assessment International Education cancelled all exams scheduled in Pakistan from 29th April to 30th May

5. Information page of Cambridge Assessment International Education website (updated as of 17 March) states the June 2020 exam series will continue as planned.

In light of the pandemic, I would be grateful if you could provide the following documents:

A. Copies of any letters or other documentation including transcripts/recordings of telephonic conversations and/or recording/minutes of meetings from Cambridge International Education to any public health body in Sri Lanka and the United Kingdom - including governmental health bodies or the World Health Organisation - requesting advice on measures the examination body should take in relation to the June 2020 examination series in light of the coronavirus pandemic.

B. Copies of any letters or other documentation including transcripts/recordings of telephonic conversations and/or recording/minutes of meetings from Cambridge International Education to any public education body in Sri Lanka and the United Kingdom - including the Ministry of Education and OfQual - requesting advice on measures the examination body should take in relation to the June 2020 examination series in light of the coronavirus pandemic.

C. Copies of any letters or other documentation including transcripts/recordings of telephonic conversations and/or recording/minutes of internal meetings within Cambridge International Education Ministry of Education and OfQual regarding measures the examination body should take in relation to the June 2020 examination series in light of the coronavirus pandemic.

I believe that this request is needed to safeguard the life of many fellow candidates. As such I request a response at the earliest
