RE: Council Tax Collections For Overdue Accounts

We're waiting for Dunc to read a recent response and update the status.

Dear Manchester City Council,

Please provide me with the following for the last SIX years:

1) The amount of overdue Council Tax accounts sent for bailiff collection.
2)Of these, the amount of accounts returned due to unsuccessful collection by the bailiff company (Either as a percentage or actual numbers)
3)The average amount of unsuccessful visits the bailiff company has made to the debtor before the account has been handed back to the council
4)The amount of Council Tax accounts recalled from bailiff enforcement AT THE COUNCIL'S REQUEST.
5) The amount of times the council has been REQUESTED BY THE DEBTOR to take back the debt from the bailiffs and of those, the actual amount that were taken back ,SPECIFICALLY using 4.4 and 4.5 of the Government's Guidance to local councils on good practice in the collection of Council Tax arrears.
6)The amount of complaints received regarding council tax collection staff in respect of overdue council tax collections procedure
7)Of those, the amount that were referred to the LGO, due to the council's internal complaints procedure being exhausted
8)Of those referred to the LGO, the amount of those found in favour of the debtor.
9)The amount of council tax accounts reduced to zero balance as per Section 13 of The Local Government Finance Act 1992

I would like to know if a complaint is actually laid before the Magistrates prior to a summons being issued by the Magistrates for non payment of Council tax?
