Dear Jesus College, Cambridge,
It would be wonderful if you could provide the following information for any re-applicants for the Natural Sciences Tripos, at Jesus, between 2015 and the current application cycle.
c) Number of A* A Levels
d) Average UMS Score
e) Average Natural Science Admissions Assessment Scores
f) Any commonalities in the way successful re-applicants spend their gap year
I am aware that the college may not be able to differentiate between those applicants who were previously rejected and are re-applying, and those applicants who are applying for the first time after receiving A Level grades. If such is the case, it would still be wonderful if you could provide the information above for any post-A Level applicants.
Thank you for your request.
As you feared, we do not record this level of detail about any applicant. In any case, records of unsuccessful applicants are anonymised and paper file shredded before the each new admissions round starts, so we have no way of knowing if anyone is re-applying unless they choose to tell us. Nor do we have on record who is a post A level applicant.
There is a lot of information about the Admissions process and particular subjects on the University of Cambridge website. The Natural Sciences page is here:
There are also some useful application statistics, including a graph generator where you can look up the number of applicants, offers and acceptances for any College. https://www.undergraduate.study.cam.ac.u...
The most recently available Statistical report is here https://www.undergraduate.study.cam.ac.u...
