Dear Royal College of Veterinary Surgeons,

I am writing to request information under the provisions of the Freedom of Information Act 2000 regarding the Objective Structured Clinical Examinations (OSCEs) of the Statutory Membership Examination (SME) for veterinary surgeons. I am particularly interested in obtaining detailed information of the exam for the past three years (2021, 2022, and 2023).
The specific information I am requesting is as follows:
1. Standard Setting: The process and criteria used for setting the standards or benchmarks for passing each station.
2. Examiner Selection: The process and criteria used for selecting the examiners for the exam.
3. Examiner Training: Details on the training provided to examiners to ensure consistency and fairness in assessment.
4. Station Development: Information on how the tasks and assessment points for each station are developed and reviewed.
5. Feedback Mechanism: The mechanism in place for providing feedback to candidates after the OSCEs.
6. Changes Over Time: Any significant changes or updates made to the OSCE stations or assessment criteria over the past three years.

I anticipate your prompt response within the statutory timeframe of 20 working days, as stipulated by the Freedom of Information Act 2000.

Yours faithfully,

Arpit Prajapati
