RCT Residential Parking Zones - selection criteria

We're waiting for mbarnett to read a recent response and update the status.

Dear Rhondda Cynon Taff Council,

Please provide the exact criteria used by RCT to determine which roads in Pontypridd have residential parking restrictions applied (Residential Parking Zones).

Sufficient detail should be provided to allow for a clear understanding of why some roads along their length can have areas of residential parking restrictions and also areas of unrestricted parking, as for example with Lan Park Road in Pontypridd, CF37.

Yours faithfully,
M.Barnett

Dear Sir/Madam

We refer to your Freedom of Information Request in respect of the
Council's Residential Parking Policy.

A copy of the Policy is attached.

With regard to residents parking in Lan Park Road, consultations were
carried out with residents and areas of 'shared residents parking/limited
waiting' were implemented where the majority of residents were in
agreement. Residents parking on the northern section of Lan Park Road was
rejected by the majority of the residents, therefore no residents parking
was introduced. However, this section is covered by an existing 'Except
for Access' Traffic Order that gives some protection against non-residents
parking in the street.

We trust this answers your queries. We apologise for the delay.

Yours sincerely

Corporate Governance Team
For Director of Legal & Democratic Services
Rhondda Cynon Taff C.B.C.
