Please provide any correspondence between NNDC environmental health
department and Mr Nigel Dixon. There is none concerning this matter.
This covers September 2022 to March 8 2023.
In order the explain the context of the Bridge Magazine article, this was
because the councillor had reports of significant sightings of rats at 5
locations within residential and riverside amenity areas of Hoveton mostly
by telephone calls and verbal mentions from residents. Most included
information about what was attracting the rats, for example: excess
provision of bird food in garden feeders and discarding waste food for
birds, including fish products, in public open spaces. The majority of the
reports concerned private property where the landowners have
responsibility for rodent control, and none involved a scale and severity
of risk that justified notification and intervention of NNDC Environmental
Health. These are local small scale seasonal migration and feeding
problems requiring an awareness and small changes to habits by residents
to minimise the risk of attracting and harbouring rats.
