Rape testing kits
Dear Police Scotland,
After submitting a request to NHS Scotland, they have told me that the information I requested is not held by them and suggested to contact Police Scotland for the information.
My request is as follows:
Please can you provide data on how many rape testing kits were used
in Scotland for the years 2012-2015.
Can you also please tell me how many rape kits kept on file in
Scotland have not been tested after they have been used from
2012-2015?
Also, please tell me how long rape testing kits are kept on file in
after the kit has been used?
Thank you for your help,
Yours faithfully,
Sarah Young

Good Morning.
Could you clarify what you mean by rape testing kits please? We have logged your request, however it will now be paused until we hear back from you.
Thank you.
FOI Team.
Dear FOI,
By rape testing kits, I mean the kits they use in hospitals, medical centres etc to medically examine people who have reported a sexual offence such as rape or sexual assault. So the kits they use to collect DNA and other samples from the person who has reported a case of rape or sexual assault and has been medically examined in Scotland.
Yours sincerely,
Sarah Young
