radioactive waste buried in Olympic Park
Dear Olympic Delivery Authority,
With regard to the actual finished construction of the radioactive storage cell into which the ODA deposited some of the radioactive material found buried in the land of the London Olympic Park; that is just over 7,000 tonnes of radioactive material:
1) what modifications were made, if any, between the original design specifications as set out in your document
REP-ENL-CK-04Z-OLP-SP1-E-0278-05 (30577).pdf, and the actual final build of the radioactive storage cell?
2) if any such changes between original design and final build exist, what notifications of such changes were made and to what authorities ?
3) if any such changes between the original design and the actual finished construction exist, what reassessment of design functions were made?
4) Was Thames Water consulted regarding matters of possible contamination of water courses with regard to any design changes?
5) Was the geotextile, Terram 1000, used or another equivalent proprietary product used, in the construction of the storage cell? If so in what location of the cell was it used in and what was its purpose?
6) Was a blue coloured geotextile used in the construction of the storage cell if so what was this blue geotextile, where in the radioactive storage cell was it used and what is its purpose?
Yours faithfully,
Mike Wells
