Further to my previous correspondence - see below, can you please provide information regarding the sinking of Radio Caroline's ship Mi Amigo in March 1980, and any relevant following documentation.

I have focused on this, as you have asked me to refine request.

As much of the documentation on offshore "pirate" radio, is now over 30 years old, perhaps you could consider releasing this to the National Archives. This would also save me making a number of refined requests, as material would be easier to access.

Thank you for your revised request. The request was for all documents from
1980 – 1983 concerning Radio Caroline.

We are exempt from providing the information under section 12 of the FOIA.
Although you have refined your request from all documents from the 1980s,
this is still very broad and would involve us sifting through a relatively
large volume of historical hard copy documents, many of which are
handwritten and difficult to read.

Looking at the request more closely, it appears what you may be looking
for is some specific information regarding “the sinking of their ship MI
Amigo in 1980, and plans and eventual return with a new ship Ross Revenge
in 1983”. If so, we would suggest narrowing your request, and indicating
whether you would like this specific information (as opposed to all
information from 1980 – 1983). If so, we can then consider the request for
this smaller sub-set of documents as a new FOIA request.
