Racist incidents/racially motivated crime by ward level
Dear West Yorkshire Police,
Under the Freedom of Information Act I would like to request the following data:
1) A summary of the number of ‘racist incidents’ and ‘racially motivated hate crimes’ taking place in each of the wards inside your police force area (or, if that is not possible, another small geographic area, such as policing neighbourhood, postcode or census output area). I am seeking minimally yearly data for these categories from January 2012 to March 2017, though quarterly data are preferred if possible.
2) If information about the ethnicity of the victim is available, please provide a breakdown of the same information (number of ‘racist incidents’ and ‘racially motivated hate crimes’ by ward by quarter or year from January 2012 to March 2017) by ethnicity of the victim.
Please could this be provided in an excel format. Any other electronic format would also be welcomed if that is not possible.
Thank you for your request for information which has been logged today under the above reference number.
Your request will now be considered and you will receive a response within the statutory timescale of 20 working days as defined by the Act, subject to the information not being exempt.
If you no longer require the information, please inform us at your earliest convenience.
