Racist incidents/racially motivated crime by ward level

We're waiting for John Chua to read a recent response and update the status.

Dear Northamptonshire Police,

Under the Freedom of Information Act I would like to request the following data:

1) A summary of the number of ‘racist incidents’ and ‘racially motivated hate crimes’ taking place in each of the wards inside your police force area (or, if that is not possible, another small geographic area, such as policing neighbourhood, postcode or census output area). I am seeking minimally yearly data for these categories from January 2012 to March 2017, though quarterly data are preferred if possible.

2) If information about the ethnicity of the victim is available, please provide a breakdown of the same information (number of ‘racist incidents’ and ‘racially motivated hate crimes’ by ward by quarter or year from January 2012 to March 2017) by ethnicity of the victim.

Please could this be provided in an excel format. Any other electronic format would also be welcomed if that is not possible.

Yours faithfully,
John Chua

Dear Northamptonshire Police,

Please pass this on to the person who conducts Freedom of Information reviews.

I am writing to request an internal review of Northamptonshire Police's handling of my FOI request 'Racist incidents/racially motivated crime by ward level'.

The response to my request is long overdue. By law, under all circumstances, the authority should have responded by now.

A full history of my FOI request and all correspondence is available on the Internet at this address: https://www.whatdotheyknow.com/request/r...

Dear Fraser Alasdair,

I believe you have provided a different FOI response from the one I originally requested. My FOI request was not about Northamptonshire Police's FOI statistics in 2021. To reiterate, it was:

“1) A summary of the number of ‘racist incidents’ and ‘racially motivated
hate crimes’ taking place in each of the wards inside your police force
area (or, if that is not possible, another small geographic area, such as
policing neighbourhood, postcode or census output area). I am seeking
minimally yearly data for these categories from January 2012 to March
2017, though quarterly data are preferred if possible.

2) If information about the ethnicity of the victim is available, please
provide a breakdown of the same information (number of ‘racist incidents’
and ‘racially motivated hate crimes’ by ward by quarter or year from
January 2012 to March 2017) by ethnicity of the victim.

Please could this be provided in an excel format. Any other electronic
format would also be welcomed if that is not possible.”

I would be grateful for a timely response: the response to this FOI request is long overdue; by law, under all circumstances, the authority should have responded by now

Many thanks,
John Chua
