Question of Trust questionnaire that is due to close at the end of January 2016

Solicitors Regulation Authority did not have the information requested.

Dear Solicitors Regulation Authority,

At present, the SRA is asking for feedback from solicitors and service users;

The link; https://forms.sra.org.uk/s3/trust

My FOI is based on the following scenario presented in the link above;

"A client, who brings a lot of business to a law firm, includes misleading information in a statement to be used in court. The solicitor handling the case knows this will create a false impression, and that it could influence the court's decision.

She still submits the statement to the court. *"

A) Please could the SRA clarify the number of people who have answered this question so far?
B) Please could you bring clarity to the way that solicitors and non solicitors responded to the following options in the aforementioned scenario?

i) No concern
ii) Some concern
iii) Concern
iv) Serious
v) Very serious
vi) Most serious

Just to confirm; I seek clarification as to how solicitors and service users responded to this particular query.

C) Will there be a similar questionnaire sent to Judges in order that we might learn their opinions on the conduct of solicitors when in court?

Many thanks for giving the public an opportunity to ask your organisation FOI questions on this community website run by volunteers. It is appreciated.

Yours sincerely,

Fiona Watts

Dear Fiona,

Thank you for your email, and for your interest in our Question of Trust
campaign.

The survey that you refer to is part of a wider consultation, which is
open until 31 January. We are therefore still collecting answers to the
question you are interested in. Once the consultation is closed we will
collate and analyse all of the responses received, and intend to publish
our findings in the summer. We will not be releasing any data while the
consultation is still ongoing, but I can forward you our findings later
this year if you would like me to. Please just let me know.

This survey is open to everyone, judges included, meaning that some may
have already taken part. We have also asked the Judicial Conduct
Investigations Office to circulate a link to the survey on our behalf.

I hope this information is useful. Please do ask if you have any other
questions.

Kind regards,

Olivia
