Queensbury & Drewton tunnels
Dear Sir/Madam
Please provide me with copies of all correspondence/documentation exchanged between Highways England and Jacobs/AMCO-Giffen, and internally amongst Highways England’s own staff, on the subject of Queensbury Tunnel (and related issues) since 13th November 2019. This should include - but is not limited to - emails plus attachments, letters, proposals, reports, drawings and plans.
Could you also please provide a weekly cost for the ongoing hire of the generator, camera system, lighting, site cabins and temporary roadway etc at the north end of Queensbury Tunnel, including running costs and the attendance of AMCO-Giffen staff to carry out checks, supervise deliveries of fuel and top-up the generator etc.
Could you also please provide the most recent inspection and examination reports for Drewton Tunnel (HBR2/52), together with any correspondence/documentation relating to its future maintenance/management/access arrangements.
Yours faithfully
Graeme Bickerdike

Dear Sir/Madam
Thank you for your recent response to my FoI request CRS-100760.
Could you confirm please that no Engineer's Instructions or other documents have been issued/received relating to:
- costs associated with the undertaking of repairs to Station Road
- costs associated with additional hire for the temporary roadway or CCTV camera in the tunnel
- results of the cement-infusion tests for the Lytag?
You have provided me with a visual inspection report for Drewton Tunnel from November 2018. Could you confirm please that:
- no visual inspection report is available from the intervening 15 months
- you do not have one detailed examination report for Drewton Tunnel
- you have no documentation relating to a future asset management strategy for the tunnel?
Thanks and regards
Graeme Bickerdike
Graeme
I can confirm that you have all information we hold about Queensbury Tunnel that was within the scope of your request.
In respect of Drewton Tunnel we have unearthed the copy of a notionally termed Detailed Examination report from 2000, so clearly not recent. That is now attached. Due to a lack of access no further Detailed Examinations have been undertaken since then.
In my response I included the most recent Visual Examination report. Our database provides links to Visual Examination reports going back to 2010. If you wish to indicate the exact timeframe for copies of any more Visual Examination reports then please advise accordingly.
We hold no documentation in relation to any future strategy for Drewton Tunnel.
Kind Regards
Dave Parker

Dave
Many thanks for your further response and for sending the 'notional detailed examination' report on Drewton Tunnel from 2000.
From your reply, I presume that none of the other visual inspection reports (since 2010) offer any insight into the interior condition of the tunnel. If so, could I request the most recent report which shows the condition of the portals?
Thanks and regards
Graeme Bickerdike
Graeme
I have looked through the reports that we hold and the attached seems to provide the only evidence of the general condition of both portals. The reports are not surprisingly highly repetitive.
