I am writing regarding your request for information, which was received on

In that request you asked us for information below:
1. Your quality assurance process and procedure in relation to any
Application, Report or Statement written by an employee of your Children’s
Social Care Department that is subsequently filed to the Court on behalf
of the Local Authority

I can confirm that the search for the information you requested has been
completed and I can advise you of the following:
• The process for quality assurance is as below;
In public law proceedings:
1. The Team Manager quality assures the social work statement and/or
Child Permanence Report
2. The Court Progression Manager then quality assures the social work
statement and/or Child Permanence Report
3. For Child Permanence Reports the Agency Decision Maker will quality
assure the report prior to making their decision
4. Legal Services review statement and reports in draft
5. The final quality assurance is undertaken by the Service Manager who
signs any care plan presented to Court
In private law proceedings:
1. The Team Manager quality assures the Section 7 or Section 37 report.
• There are no documents or materials related to this process.
