Qualifiations awarded surname Lejeune 2003-6

The request was partially successful.

Dear Oxford Brookes University,

What qualifications were awarded to people with the surname Lejuene between 2003 and 2005, or to date if none in that time?

An Msc degree in development practice is the most likely qualification.

regards

J Robertson

Dear Mr Robertson

Freedom of Information Act Request - our reference 2013-100

I am writing to acknowledge your email dated 1st October 2013 requesting
information from Oxford Brookes University about qualifications awards to
individuals with a specified surname.

I would like to ask for a clarification.  In the text of your request you
specify the surname of interest as Lejuene, whereas in the subject line
for your request you give the surname as Lejeune.  I suspect it is the
latter which would be a more common occurrence, but it will be helpful if
you could clarify.  Could you clarify which it is?
Please note that in certain cases some information you have requested may
not be provided to you; this will only be information that can be withheld
by law. In these cases the reasons will be explained to you along with
your copy of any information that can be released to you.

Yours Sincerely

Dear Mr Robertson

Freedom of Information Act Request - our reference 2013-100

Further to your email of 1st October 2013 asking for information from
Oxford Brookes University about graduates with the surname Lejeune, I am
able to provide the following information in response to your request.

You asked:

What qualifications were awarded to people with the surname Lejeune
between 2003 and 2005, or to date if none in that time?
An MSc degree in Development Practice is the most likely qualification.

Our Response:

I can confirm that Oxford Brookes University holds the information you
request. However we are withholding that information since we consider
that Section 21 of the Freedom of Information Act applies here.  Section
21 applies to information which is reasonably accessible to the
applicant.  The University publishes Graduation Lists each year,
containing the awards conferred, and the names of the recipients.  These
are available for consultation in the Special Collections section of the
University Library. Information on how to access this department can be
found here:
 [1]http://www.brookes.ac.uk/library/speccol...

I have, however, consulted the Graduation lists for 2003, 2004 and 2005,
and can tell you that nobody with the surname Lejeune graduated from
Oxford Brookes University in those three years.

If this information does not address your requirements under the Freedom
of Information Act or you wish to complain about any aspect of the
handling of this request, then you should contact the undersigned in the
first instance. Should you remain dissatisfied, then you may apply for an
internal review by contacting the Director of Corporate Affairs at Oxford
Brookes University, Headington Campus, Gipsy Lane, Oxford OX3 OBP (email:
[2][email address] ).  Your request for internal review should be
submitted to us within 40 working days of receipt by you of this
response.

During the independent review the handling of your information request
will be reassessed by staff who were not involved in providing you with
this response. If you remain dissatisfied with the handling of your
request or complaint, you have a right to appeal to the Information
Commissioner at The Information Commissioner's Office, Wycliffe House,
Water Lane, Wilmslow, Cheshire SK9 5AF. Further contact information and
details of the role and powers of the Information Commissioner can be
found on the Commissioner's website: [3]http://www.ico.org.uk/

Please note that the Information Commissioner is unlikely to investigate
your case until the University’s internal review process has been
completed.

Yours sincerely
