Quails on allotments

Richard MacKenzie

Dear Witney Town Council,

Considering the Allotment Act allows the keeping of hens on publicly run allotments, does your organisation allow plot holders to keep quail hens?

Yours faithfully,

Richard MacKenzie

Sharon Groth, Witney Town Council

Thank you for your e-mail.

During W/c 20 July most of the week I shall be either in meetings or out
of the office, and I will have limited access to my inbox.

If your message is urgent please resend to [email address] or
telephone the office on 01993 704379.

Sharon Groth, Witney Town Council

Dear Mr Mackenzie

Thank you for your e-mail.

The management of the Council’s allotments was transferred over to the
Witney Allotment Association several years ago, so at the present time the
Council does not have any jurisdiction over the tenancy agreements or
policy.

I trust this answers your enquiry but should you require any further
clarification on my response please do not hesitate to contact me again.

Regards,

Hello there,

This request is now older than the statutory 20 days so i thought I'd give you a quick nudge.

Thanks

Yours faithfully,

Richard MacKenzie

Hi Richard

I have responded as you are aware and within the statutory timescales - but you came back with clarification on a specific site - Park Rd.

This site is leased land and the lease has now expired.

Currently it has no poultry or quail on that site and should the Council receive any future request it would consider them accordingly, but at the present time it is not relevant.

Hope this clarifies.
