Quails on allotments

Richard MacKenzie

Dear Didcot Town Council,

Considering the Allotment Act allows the keeping of hens on
publicly run allotments, does your organisation allow plot holders
to keep quail hens?

Yours faithfully,

Richard MacKenzie

Brenda Andrews, Didcot Town Council

Dear Richard MacKenzie – with reference your enquiry: under the terms of
DTC tenant’s agreement it states under item 7.c: not keep livestock or
poultry in the Allotment Garden other than reasonable numbers of hens or
rabbits which shall not be kept for a business or a trade.

We do have 2 traditional hen keepers on our sites and would look at any
application for Quail hen on an individual basis. I hope that answers your
question. Brenda Andrews, Outdoor Services Manager, Didcot Town Council.
