purpose of reduced speed on A426

Rugby Borough Council did not have the information requested.

Dear Rugby Borough Council,

Having travelled on the A426 from Southam to Rugby and from Rugby to Southam for 1 month in September 2011 when it had a national speed limit for the majority of the distance, I would like to know why this limit is now reduced for the entire distance to 50MPH through open countryside.

I note during my daily journey that the majority of road users maintain the previous speed limit but now no longer reduce it when travelling though Kites Hardwick as the limit is now all the same

Yours faithfully,

Mr. S. Clipson

Dear Rugby Borough Council,

By law, you should have responded to this request by 11th December. Please provide the reason for the reduction as originally requested.

Yours faithfully,

Mr S Clipson

Dear Mr Clipson

Please accept my apologies for the delay in responding to your recent FOI
request, which for some reason does not appear to have been registered by
the council.  Rugby Borough Council does not hold this information as the
authority responsible for highways in the borough is Warwickshire County
Council.  You can contact the county by emailing

Kind regards
