Please answer the following questions.

1. How many children have places confirmed and will definitely commence their education at Rugby Free Secondary School (RFSS) this September (2016)?

2. How many of these children are from within the Borough of Rugby?

3. How many of these children are from outside the Borough of Rugby i.e. how many are from Daventry and other surrounding areas which are not situated within the Borough of Rugby?

4. How many of the children who will attend RFSS in 2016 live north of the railway line (as defined in WCC's sufficiency strategy) and how many children who will attend RFSS in 2016 live south of the railway line (as defined in WCC's sufficiency strategy)?

Thanks very much for your email. Your FOI request was received and acknowledged on the 26th July. As we noted in our response, we aim to respond to any requests as soon as possible and within 20 business days.

The Summer Term ended on the 22nd July and the Autumn term begins on the 5th September. This being the case, strictly speaking the deadline for our responding to your request is Friday 30th September. We will of course endeavour to complete this sooner but as I’m sure you will appreciate, our summer holidays have been somewhat taken over by opening Rugby Free Secondary School.

Thanks very much for your enquiry and apologies for the delayed response. As mentioned in previous correspondence, our priority has been to establish RFSS successfully and this is why we are a little behind on correspondence of this nature.

In answer to your questions:

1. How many children have places confirmed and will definitely commence their education at Rugby Free Secondary School (RFSS) this September (2016)?
We are happy to confirm that RFSS has 131 Year students on roll.

2. How many of these children are from within the Borough of Rugby?
We have interpreted this as those children living in postcode areas CV21, CV22 and CV23. The total for this is 105 children

3. How many of these children are from outside the Borough of Rugby i.e. how many are from Daventry and other surrounding areas which are not situated within the Borough of Rugby?

4. How many of the children who will attend RFSS in 2016 live north of the railway line (as defined in WCC's sufficiency strategy) and how many children who will attend RFSS in 2016 live south of the railway line (as defined in WCC's sufficiency strategy)?
This information has been obtained by mapping the postcodes using BatchGeo mapping software and manually counting those either side of the railway line. This gives a figure of 29 to the North and 102 to the South.

We hope this answers your questions. If you are unhappy with the way your request has been handled, you should make a complaint to the Trust by writing to the Trust within two calendar months of the date of this letter. Your complaint will be considered by an independent review panel, who were not involved in the original consideration of your request.

If you are not content with the outcome of your complaint to the Trust, you may then contact the Information Commissioner’s Office.
