Dear Cardiff Council,
This FOI request is for information that is processed about "children not in education" either who leave state education or who were never regsistered in state education settings in your authority area. It is in regards to existing practice on recording and retaining personal data at individual named child level, whether data is collected on a voluntary basis from the person, or otherwise.
This is a modifies request of an earlier FOI of December 22, 2021 in which you asked for clarification whether this was data held in the education directorate. We cannot tell you where the information will be held within your organisation, but we agree that sounds like a sensible place to ask.
For Question one, 1.1 to 1.4 , and in order to make it easy to respond, we expect only a yes/no answer for each scenario. For Question two, we expect a yes/no answer; and/or the sharing register name. Question three does not ask for personal details.
Thank you for your support.
Sincerely,
Jen Persson

Dear Cardiff Council,
You asked us to clarify or explain the questions 1.2 / 1.3l / 2.
For Question one, 1.1 to 1.4 , and in order to make it easy to respond, we expect a yes/no answer only for each scenario. This includes Q 1.2 and 1.3.
It asks to understand if you collect and process children's data when a child is deregistered or you know of children not in state education.
For example, they leave a nursery setting, or AP, or YOI/custody and you don't know to where they go in education?
When the destination from the following is unknown
f. Nursery
g. Alternative provision
h. Custody
i. Post-16 education
For these databases, have you got a DPIA? "Q2. About the databases or registers currently processed." and what are their characteristics like how many children are in each/the database?
Sincerely,
Jen Persson
