Dear Mr Tillman,
Could you please tell me on what date, and in what format Carmarthenshire County Council will be publishing the details of all spending over £500 (subject to Data Protection) in line with national guidance for transparency.
If the data is to be published within the near future please provide a formal timescale.
If Carmarthenshire Council does not intend to publish this data please could you provide me with the reason why.
Yours faithfully,
J Thompson

Dear Mrs Thompson,
I refer to your request for information, which was received on 4th January, 2011 and has been dealt with under the Freedom of Information Act 2000.
The specific information you requested was as follows:
"1. Could you please tell me on what date, and in what format Carmarthenshire County Council will be publishing the details of all spending over £500 (subject to Data Protection) in line with national guidance for transparency.
2. If the data is to be published within the near future please provide a formal timescale.
3. If Carmarthenshire Council does not intend to publish this data please could you provide me with the reason why."
In response to your first two questions, the Council does not hold a date or formal timescale for the publication of spending over £500.00.
Although we are not required under the Act to provide explanations or comments in response to questions (unless they form part of an existing record relevant to the request), I would add that there is currently no requirement for local authorities in Wales to publish this information and therefore Carmarthenshire has no intention at present to publish such data.
However, should the Welsh Assembly Government amend legislation in the future, the Authority will of course implement any requirements.
If I can be of any further assistance, please do not hesitate to contact me.
Yours sincerely
John Tillman
