Dear FOI,

Firstly, I now realise I made a 'typo' in the title/header of this request. It should read - 'Publication/release of The Tree Investigation Report'.

Secondly, in the interest of clarity and the avoidance of doubt the report to which I refer was published today (20th December 2019) despite being dated 30th August 2019 and titled -

'Sheffield City Council, Amey & Sheffield Tree Action Groups Steering Group –
Joint Position Statement Action Review of Tree Investigations - Lessons Learned & Actions
30th August 2019'.

To assist you I have included a link to said document below.

Dear FOI,

Please update me as a matter of urgency and inform me as to what is happening as this is now overdue . Would my next port of call would be the Information Commissioner?

Yours sincerely,

R Naylor

Dear R Naylor,

Thank you for your request for information relating to data related to the
publication/release of the Tree Investigation Report, 2019 which we
received on 19/12/2019.

We apologise for missing the deadline to respond to this request.

Please find attached, Sheffield City Council’s response to your request.

We have redacted personal information of third parties, which is some
names and direct contact details of staff at Sheffield City Council and
members of the public. Regulation 13(2A)(a) of the Environmental
Information Regulations 2004 (EIR) provides for an exception to the
disclosure of personal data of someone else, because it would contravene
the principle (a) of the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR). That
principle includes fairness to the data subject whose expectation is of
privacy in the normal work environment, with business as usual disclosures
to individual citizens and partners of their personal data, but not a
disclosure “to the world” which a response under these Regulations
represent. In the case of the public, they similarly have a right to a
private life, separate from their engagement with council officers. There
is no public interest test.

If you have any queries about this response, please do not hesitate to
contact us.

If you are unhappy with the response you have received in relation to your
request, you are entitled to have this reviewed.  You can ask for an
internal review by either writing to the above address or by emailing
[1][Sheffield City Council request email].  Internal review requests should be submitted
within 40 working days from the date of this response.

If you remain dissatisfied with the outcome of your internal review, you
can contact the Information Commissioners Office. The Information
Commissioner can be contacted at: The Information Commissioner's Office,

Dear FOI,

I am somewhat concerned as to why the first piece of data you have provided is dated 16th December yet the report in question is dated 30th August 2019. For obvious reasons this leads me to think that not all the data requested has been provided. I would be very grateful for a brief explanation, in order that I can set my mind at rest.

Many thanks,

R. Naylor

Dear FOI,

Please could you update me as to how your response to my request for clarfication (submitted 7th March 2020), regarding the Freedom of Information request above, is proceeding?

Dear Mr Naylor

On 21 February 2020 we replied to your request for information about
correspondence relating to the publication of the Tree Investigation
Report in December 2019.

On 7 March you queried why that correspondence dated only from 16 December
(in fact 13 December 2020).

The document was reformatted for publication between the end of August and
when it was published in December.  A number of meetings with STAG members
took place during this period which were unrecorded. The correspondence we
provided is only that we have to hand.

I apologise for the delay in our response.

Kind regards
