Publication Scheme

The request was refused by Department of Health and Social Care.

Dear Department of Health,

The web page at https://www.gov.uk/government/organisati... suggests that it is the DH Publication Scheme.

Can you confirm that this is in fact THE publication scheme, rather than a description of it,as it appears to depart from the ICO model scheme e.g.it does not mention datasets.

I can also find nothing to indicate what is actually published under the scheme as would be expected from the definition document at https://ico.org.uk/media/for-organisatio...

Do you actually have any guidance on what you actually publish as suggested in this definition document? If so please provide a copy.

Yours faithfully,

Alan Bunn

Dear Mr Bunn,

Thank you for your correspondence of 7 October about the Department of
Health publication scheme.  I have been asked to reply.

As you will be aware from the Department’s website, under the scheme, the
Department publishes information about:

o who it is and what it does;
o what it spends and how it spends it;
o what its priorities are and how it is doing;
o how it makes decisions;
o its policies and procedures;
o lists and registers; and
o services it offers.

The Department does not usually publish information that is:

o not held by it;
o exempt from disclosure under the Freedom of Information Act;
o in draft form; and
o not easy to access (for example, it is in archive storage).

Departmental policy and guidance on policy, including documents, is
available at:

I hope this reply is helpful.

Yours sincerely,
