Dear Gwynedd Council,
My freedom of information request is as follows-
a- Please provide me a copy of the equalities impact assessment that was made prior to the decision to cut/end the public service bus X19.
If the decision to end this service was not a decision made by Gwynedd Council, please provide me with the equalities impact assessment made before deciding that no alternative solution could be found/made other than to scrap this particular bus service route completely.
b- According to the Transport act 1968 and 1985 “ local transport authorities must secure the provision of appropriate services to meet public transport requirements. In practice this means that where it is socially necessary to have a bus service, but the bus operators will not run a bus commercially, local authorities step in and subsidise a bus service or part of a bus service. They do this almost always using a contract with a bus company.
Therefore, please provide me with a copy of the bus service plan subsided between Gwneud Council and the bus company service provider Llew Jones Coaches, or made between any further bus service providers other than Llew Jones coaches.
c- Please provide me with a copy of the needs assessment made by Gwynedd Council when assessing the needs of those in the Blaenau Ffestiniog area, and the impact of this (the X19) particular bus services being withdraw,
in particular on the elderly, disabled, and people with mobility problem.
d- Please provide me with s copy of the Local Transport Plan.

Dear Miss Williams,

Thank you for your recent request. Please see below for the information requested:
This was not the Council's decision to withdraw this service. The service was operated on a commercial basis by Llew Jones. Gwynedd Council did not subsidise this route and therefore was not involved with the operator's decision.
