Public Sewer Maintenance in Great Thirkleby

Mark Ludiman made this Freedom of Information request to Yorkshire Water Services Limited

This request has been closed to new correspondence. Contact us if you think it should be reopened.

Response to this request is long overdue. By law, under all circumstances, Yorkshire Water Services Limited should have responded by now (details). You can complain by requesting an internal review.

Dear Yorkshire Water Services Limited,
There is a sewerage outlet next to the village green in Great Thirkleby, Thirsk which discharges in to Thirkleby Beck. The effluent being discharged is untreated and is frequently high volume and unpleasant. I have been told by a YW representative that the tank gets emptied every 2 weeks. I have no evidence to say whether that is true or otherwise but having lived here for over 40 years I have never seen a YW tanker next to the village green.
Please can you provide records for the last 5 years of when the tank has been emptied and details of the permit from the EA which allows YW to discharge untreated sewerage in to the beck.

Yours faithfully,
Mark Ludiman

Dear EIR Compliance,
Rebecca, thank you for this. Unfortunately the nature of the FOI request portal edits out direct email addresses so when you sent it in the last correspondence it didn't appear as an email.
I've tried calling YW and asked for a return call but I haven't managed to speak to anyone to get the email.
I have asked the whatdotheyknow website to try and extract the email address or you can send it to [email address] (if that email appears?).

Yours sincerely,

Mark Ludiman
