Public sector pay inequality - all non-London councils

I am writing to you under the Freedom of Information Act (2000) to request information pertaining to public sector pay inequality. The following are a list of questions that I would like a response on;

• How many persons does your council employ?
• How many council employees are employed as apprentices, and how much is their pay per hour?
• How many council employees are employed on a salary equal or less than a full-time equivalent of £14,942.20 per year?
• How many council employees are employed on a salary equal to or less than a full-time equivalent of £16,380 (in London £19,201) per year?
• How many council employees are employed on a salary equal to or less than a full-time equivalent of £29,588 per year?
• How many council employees are employed on a salary equal to or greater than a full-time equivalent of £46,351 per year?
• What are the non-pecuniary benefits or expenses available to stage employed in roles with full-time equivalent salaries equal to or greater than £46,351 per year?

The relevant Council Service(s) has searched for the requested information
and our response is as follows.

 

I am writing to you under the Freedom of Information Act (2000) to request
information pertaining to public sector pay inequality. The following are
a list of questions that I would like a response on;

their pay per hour?       46, national minimum wage for their age group.

•How many council employees are employed on a salary equal or less than a
full-time equivalent of £14,942.20 per year?          39

•How many council employees are employed on a salary equal to or less than
a full-time equivalent of £16,380 (in London £19,201) per year?      46

•How many council employees are employed on a salary equal to or less than
a full-time equivalent of £29,588 per year?         4428

•How many council employees are employed on a salary equal to or greater
than a full-time equivalent of £46,351 per year?        406

•What are the non-pecuniary benefits or expenses available to stage
employed in roles with full-time equivalent salaries equal to or greater
than £46,351 per year?         None – please see below for explanation.

Non pecuniary benefits are payments in kind (non-monetary). There are none
that would be applicable just to the salary banding specified. The only
entitlement based on salary amount is additional annual leave. Which
whilst up to 25 days pro rata can be obtained for all employees with 5
years + continuous service; the following is applicable:

 

Salaries up to £26,317 pro rata  - 21 days rising to 25 after 5 years
continuous service.

Salaries up to £41,675 pro rata – 22 days rising to 25 days after 5 years
continuous service

Salaries from £42,683 pro rata – 25 days rising to 28 days after 5 years
continuous service.

 

All employees receive 2 additional Statutory days per year pro rata to
contracted hours.
