Public profile of the UKSA Chair v2

The request was successful.

Dear UK Statistics Authority,

Please can you send me copies of the content of the statements and speeches by the Chair of UKSA. Please also include quotes in the press.

Please cover the period from the start of 2020 to date.

Previous requests along these lines have been refused because providing the information would require you "to search the inboxes and desktop files, as well as numerous business
databases, files, shared drives and personal workspaces of every member of Sir David Norgrove's Private Office, as well as Sir David's mailboxes". I did not realise that such key information would not be filed and could be spread so widely but, if that is the case, can I suggest you limit this to Sir David's own mailboxes and files. I find it hard to imagine that anything of great consequence would be found only on a "personal workspace" of a junior member of staff.

Yours faithfully,

Simon Briscoe

Dear FOI Team,

Hello and thanks for the response to my request.

I had also asked for: "Please also include quotes in the press." Either you did not do this or the Chair's views did not appear in the press during the relevant period. Could you please let me know? If there is a list of press cuttings can you please publish it?

Yours sincerely,

Simon Briscoe

FOI Team, UK Statistics Authority

Dear Simon,

Thank you for your email.

Regarding your clarification about ‘quotes in the press’: we have supplied all qualifying information.

For the period you requested, all statements and comments by the Chair made available to the media were through these methods: UKSA web publications, stakeholder web publications (e.g. RSS, later republished on our website), media articles (placed and written with Sir David in the byline, and then republished on our website), tweets, and official letters (which are published under ‘Correspondence’ on our website).

We do not maintain a record of all press mentions of the Chair and they are best sought directly from the outlets publishing them. Furthermore, if there were misquotes, all of the correct source material is available in the document we supplied this week.

Kind regards,
